Assistant Manager, Progressive Mixed Enterprise – Central West NSW

A dynamic and progressive mixed farming family enterprise in Central West NSW is extending the invitation for an energetic and motivated Assistant Manager to join their team. Including recent expansion, they operate Poll Merino and Dohne studs, a commercial flock, and commercial and additional trade cattle alongside a cropping program.

As Assistant Manager you will be across all facets of the business, reporting directly to the owners you will work with the established team with extensive use of contractors. The studs are comprised of 2,500 ewes with a further 5,000 commercial ewes utilised for the production of prime lambs and wool. Shorthorn and Angus breeders are maintained, with additional opportunistic trade stock being backgrounded and finished as dictated by the markets and seasons.

Farm Overseer, Warialda – NSW

Our clients are currently seeking a skilled and experienced individual with a broadacre cropping background to manage and oversee all daily operations of the cropping enterprise. This will include tasks such as ground preparation, sowing, harvest, liaising with agronomists, machinery maintenance, spreading, and implementing and installing the new irrigation program. From time to time, the successful candidate may also be required to assist with the feedlot operation.

You should have previous experience as a cropping farm hand and work with a modern fleet of equipment, including Patriot Spray Rig, Morris Airseeders, Class and Case Tractors, and the utilisation of Trimble GPS. Responsible for cropping and maintenance, with approximately 80% of the work being carried out in the paddock and the rest being done in conjunction with the property manager.

Livestock Supervisor, Swan Hill – Vic

Garrison Feedlot is a 5,000 head feedlot located just 6 km from Swan Hill, VIC on the NSW border at Murray Downs. Owned by Woodward Foods Australia the well-established feedlot supplies quality short fed cattle to our own abattoir.

We are seeking to employ a suitably experienced Livestock Supervisor/Head Stock person. Working closely with the Feedlot Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out and coordinating all movements of cattle that enter and exit the Feedlot along with the daily monitoring and treatment of feedlot cattle. Key Responsibilities: Selection of cattle for supplying our abattoir, ensuring they meet the required specifications; Ensure that all cattle arriving at the feedlot are inducted in a timely manner while prioritising low stress stock handling.

The Feed Mill Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring the efficient storage, handling, allocation and delivery of feed commodities and rations. Using leading edge milling equipment and machinery you will assist the Feed Mill and Maintenance Manager execute a preventative maintenance plan.
